I've had two children and am in need of some breast reconstuctive surgery.I'm wondering if anyone has ever gotten breast implants put in through the belly button, because I also want the surgeon to stictch my belly button back to the stomach muscle. The muscle got seperated through my two pregnancies, and my belly button detached itself from the muscle.Anyway, just wondering if anyone went through something similar and has any advice to give me.Thanks so much!!
I'm looking into getting breast implants and am wondering what is the best choice, silicone or saline?
There are pros and cons of each, so it depends on what you are looking for, the method of surgery (over or under the muscle) and the incision cite, because the silicone must go in full, so its a larger incision. I opted for silicone because I wanted a softer and more natural look and feel, and I wanted to go over the muscle.
Also, the belly button is NOT connected to the stomach muscles, I am assuming you are talking about the rectus abdominis. The rectus abdominus has 2 heads, that run vertical along side eachother and are used when you flex your spine (sit up or bend forward). They spit apart during pregnancy so they do not get over stretched and weakened. This is called a diastases. However, they do get a bit stretched and weakened during pregnancy. They move back together after pregnancy, but often not all the way. There are exercises you can to strengthen this area and close your diastases, giving your abdomen a flatter appearance. Reply:i had silicone implants done about 5 months ago and i am very pleased. i went from an A to a full B 320cc. i wish i would have gone bigger lol, but still i believe i made one of the best decisions of my life, because i have never looked or felt better and shopping is so much more fun because of the way i can fill out certain tops. the whole process cost me about 16k, but you can probably get them done for alot less, as i used one of the best doctors in NYC. i originally wanted saline, but i went with silicone with the doctors suggestion. it feels and looks so natural, and silicone is safer these days i heard, because it doesnt leak. mine was sort of a gummy bear texture. with saline, you could get a rippling affect, and i did not want to take that chance. goodluck to you!
Reply:To the person above me, when you answer a question make sure you read the question...if she needs reconstructive surgery then she should do it. Getting implants helps many women feel better about themselves. If she had 2 children then I doubt she is concerned with guys being able to tell they are not real. Don't answer a question if you dont give sensible advice...I dont have implants but I think that saline is the better choice. Good luck and make sure you speak with a doctor and he/she will tell you your best options!
Reply:um, why don't you ask your health care professional. I dont think you should be asking people on yahoo answers about this. They could tell you innacurate info, and then you'll be screwed. Anywayz, no offense but uh.. getting implants is so fake and messed up. You can easily wear a pushup or padded bra, and not to mention getting implants increases your risk for breast cancer, and other health risks.Wow, haha i bet your a blonde.....so typical. you don't need FAKE boobs to look good. You need a natural look, and guys won;t like FAKE boobs just to let you knoww. They'll be able to tell. haha....
Reply:Don't take any advice from this forum - that is what you are paying the doctor for. Talk to him and let him explain the pro's and con's of each one. He is the professional and that is what you need - professional advice!!
Reply:silicone is so much better..im 15 but when i watch dr. 90210 he said silicone makes you look more natural but is does cost a bit more. and saline leaks with hard impact but saline never leaks.
good luck!
Reply:dont do it!
Reply:I would never want to advise anyone to go for surgery as it just reinforces the whole Beauty myth that women should all look a certain way to be beautiful
BUT!
If you HAVE to go for it, make sure you actually do your research. I agree with people on here that yahoo answers is probably the worst place to do this BUT I would also suggest not turning to a surgeon. They have a vested interest in you getting surgery and preferably with them.
Go online onto forums and read about people's experiences, good and bad! Although some women feel much more confident after surgery you have to accept that you will look fake (at least when you are naked) no matter what type of implants you go for. Sadly we live in a society which is not just accepting of this but seems to be heading in a direction where hard fake boobs are preferable to soft natural ones.
If you are desperate and you have given your body enough time to recover and heal from the pregnancies and you have tried all the exercises and oils to get you back in shape and you feel you have no other choice and you are feeling miserable then go for it! you'll probably feel great.
If on the other hand you're just going through a rough patch and you feel you are strong enough to realise that your beauty and your sexuality are way beyond your looks and cup size then try to avoid putting hard unnatural objects in your body which never ever look real as your body inevitably tries to reject them, as it should. I've never seen any model or actress with fake boobs who didn't look a little ridiculous.
Maybe even try and think that you are also setting an example for your children and society in its ideals. We are beginning to deem beautiful those women who actively choose to mutilate their body for the sexual gratification of boys or men who have failed to remember what real women's bodies are like.
Good luck in whatever you decide.
