Do breast implants look better over the muscle or under the muscle?

I have heard that under the muscle looks more "natural". I have seen a lot of figure competitors getting them over the muscle and they look really good! What is the difference? What are the advantages vs disadvantages? Please share with me you personal experience. If you are going to speak negatively regarding implants in general just go on to the next question.

Do breast implants look better over the muscle or under the muscle?
Hello,

If you want things to look good over a longer period of time, going "Under" is usually the best choice. Very thin women and those with very little body fat are hard to make look good in general. Much of this of course has something to do with how you want to look. Some women like the "fake round look" that many others want to avoid.

"Pros" and "Cons" in brief:

Under the Muscle:

Pro:

(1) Better long lasting results.

(2) Less implant droop over time.

(3) More natural appearance.

(4) Less interference with mammograms over the patient's life.

Con:

(1) More discomfort initially.

(2) Occasional unusual appearance with muscular movement - This tends to be an issue with bodybuilders.

Over the Muscle:

Pro:

(1) Easier surgery.

Con:

(1) Implants tend to droop quickly.

(2) Implants more visible - more "rippling."

(3) More pain over the long term (with the droop.)

(4) More fake "round as a ball" look.

(5) Harder to get good mammograms over the life of the patient.

Reply:Under the muscle tends to look better, especially in push up bras. over the muscle in a push up is usually very noticable.

Under the muscle not only looks and feels more natural, but they are better protected, so less complications. However, healing is longer and its much more painful.

Over has faster recovery time and less pain, but rippling may be more visible. There also maybe more chances of complications.
Reply:Under the muscle is better and does look more natural. I am not sure if a lot of Dr's put them over the muscle. That was not even an option for me. One thing about under the muscles is that if you gain a lot of weight AFTER you get them put under the muscle, the implant will stay in place and your breast will begin to sag making it look weird. So remember that if you do get them, you need to keep in shape.
Reply:My wife had several screenings several years ago, and each doctor suggested under the muscle. She also would have needed a lift in order for everything to look right.

Consult 2 or 3 plastic surgeons and get their opinion. Many cosmetic surgery centers offer free consultations.

Reply:neither be happy with what u have =)
